Out with the Old and Into the New… With Some New Ideas too

I don’t normally do resolutions and stuff for New Year’s.  I think that I am going to this year.  There are things that I do that I would like to make a conscience effort to change.

I had a bit of a rough time toward the end of this year.  I will not let myself get depressed next Christmas for sure.

Yes some of it is the standard lose 20lbs.  Which I know I can do.  I lost 35lbs last year.  The rest is coming off this year.  Go to the gym at least 4 times a week.  Walk the dogs daily.  These are health and fitness related as you can see.

I will get on my yoga mat EVERYDAY.  Even if it is just to sit.  It doesnt matter if it is for 2 minutes or 20 minutes.  I will roll that sucker out everyday.  I need to get back on my practice for me and my students.

I will be nicer to the ones that I love.  Especially my husband.  I can be mean at times.  We all can.  I need to learn how to be more tactful in my speech.  Choose my words more wisely.  I will be more positive in the things that I do and with the people that I surround myself with.  I will spend more time with the people that I love and my family.

I will read more.  Im shooting for a book a month.  Spend less time watching TV.

I will learn to knit.  If it kills me or whoever teaches me. 🙂

I will travel out of the country finally.

Go on vacation with my husband.  Its been 3 years since we went on one together.  It would be nice to do something with him.

Month of Gratitude: Day 11

Today I’m grateful for anyone that has served in any form of US Military. I have been an army wife for over 5 years now. This life was totally foreign to me when I started dating a guy that was in the army. Funny thing is most of my family has been in some form of the military too. I didn’t know this till I was married too or maybe I did but just didn’t acknowledge it. My granddad is retired Navy, cousin was in the Air Force and both uncles were in the Army. My moms boyfriend also was in the Army.

I’m so grateful for everything that all of our service members do for us and blessed with the life that I have now. I cant even imagine things any different at this time.

Month of Gratitude: Day 10

Day 10: I’m grateful for my job and my great co-workers. Teaching is a job but not my day job not what pays my bills of for my yoga trainings and trips. Feeds my dogs, me and J. I sell air. I work in radio. I have to hustle and it’s not always easy. I have had my ups and downs there but things are great now. I’m so grateful that my co-workers and I have patience to work through our differences.

This December I will have been there for 5 years. This is the longest that I have ever had a job. Which is actually a long time for most people. I have realized that the grasses is always greener or so it appears. I know now that if I can be happy here and now that I can be happy anywhere. Life and work are what you make of it. If you want to hate your job, guess what you probably will. I love my job and the people who I work with.

This past year has been hard on all of us. Lots of things have happened to each one of us personally. Its been really nice to see everyone pull together and make the best out of each situation. They are my other family. My work family. I am so grateful for each one of them in their own way.

Month of Gratitude

Day 6: Im grateful for having lazy beautiful Sundays. I love to get up and teach yoga on Sunday’s come home cook brunch then take a nap with the dogs. Sunday is my favorite day. I get to be lazy or at least try to take the time to be as lazy as possible.

Didn’t get much done but making chicken noodle soup, watched a movie or 2 and played with the dogs. My kind of Sunday.

Hope you all enjoyed your day too.

Month of Gratitude

I’m not normally a daily blogger. I’m also getting a bit of a late start on the month but hey. I’m going to give this a try anyhow. This month started kinda crazy.

Day 1: at 3am our female boxer went into labor. We were expecting 7 puppies and we have 8. It has been many late nights here with little sleep. Day 1 would be the gratitude I feel for my dogs who are my kids and how much love is in our home now since it has grown with 8 little ones in it.

Day 2: I’m grateful for my job and the understanding that I can take off days like today to spend time with my family and welcome the new puppies into the world.

Day 3: I’m grateful for being welcomed into the Lawton Fort Sill Chamber of Commerce Red Coats. This is a position that I feel is very important in the community. I’m glad that they have all welcomed me into their group. I hope that I can give back to them as much as I possibly can.

Day 4: I’m grateful for hot tea, warm puppies and a husband that loves me even thought I’m sick and grumpy. I tend to get a bit whiney and bitchy when I don’t feel good. I’m just glad that he can see past that and just do whatever needs to be done to make me happy. Yes I’m spoiled.

This brings us to Day 5: Im grateful for my mother in law and her being able to take Drake(our male boxer) while Kali was in labor. Drake has been at her house since the puppies came. It’s nice to have a family member close that can watch one of them when we need it. Like I said these are our children.
